General Dedë Prenga has shed light on the behind-the-scenes international lobbying in favor of Prime Minister Edi Rama, stating that former British Prime Minister Tony Blair directly influenced the personal lobbying of US President Donald Trump for the Peace Board.
Prenga stated that Prime Minister Rama's absence from the Davos forum cannot be considered clever, emphasizing the importance of Albania being present at international tables.
"Did Rama lose by not being in Davos? I wouldn't call it cleverness. I come to the point of contact, that Albania, like all the countries that have been invited, needs to become part of the Peace Board. Everyone has a role to play in being there."
Speaking about the issue of lobbying, Prenga explained that it is not about lobbying in the interest of Albania as a state, but about personal lobbying.
"As for lobbying, not for Albania, because there has been no lobbying for Albania," he said when invited to the show "Terminal".
According to him, Tony Blair's influence is unquestionable, due to the relationships he has at the international level.
"I am convinced that, from the relationships they have, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Tony Blair, has undoubtedly influenced this personal lobbying. He is paid for this, as he lobbyes and this is normal in every country in the world."
