Strong competition at QSUT, 9 services with new heads; names of candidates

Nine services at the "Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center are expected to have new leaders.

Since February 10, the competition for candidates to be selected to lead these services has been open, and the review of their files is nearing completion.

These are important services such as Anesthesia-Reanimation, Neurology, Oncology Service, Dermatology, Rheumatology, Pediatric Nephrology, whose heads have reached retirement age and are handing over this function.
Top Channel has learned the names of some of the candidates who have ambitions to take over the management of important services at the QSUT.

The competition seems to be stronger in the oncology service, where in addition to Prof. Helidon Nini, another doctor who has been very controversial recently is also competing.

Likewise, there is a strong competition for the leadership of the neurology service, with 3 candidates participating: neurologist Altin Kuqo, Prof. Ilirjana Zekja, and Dr. Gentian Vyshka.

There are also 4 candidates in the Toxicology Service. The current head of this service, Prof. Andrin Tahiri, is in the running, while Esmeralda Thoma, Alert Drishti and Irena Ceko are also aiming for the position.

Meanwhile, at the head of the Anesthesia-Reanimation service will be Prof. Krenar Lilaj, who currently directs and will continue to direct this service as he is the only candidate in this competition.

Likewise, the head of the Dermatology service is expected to be Prof. Monika Fida, who is the only candidate in the race and replaces Prof. Ermira Vasili.

The head of Pediatric Nephrology will be Prof. Diamant Shtiza and the head of Pediatric Oncohematology will be Prof. Donjeta Bali.

The competition has been open since February 10. Young doctors have submitted their files to take charge of these services (table with the names of the services).

Candidates must have the title of professor, but those with doctorates defended at universities in EU countries, the USA, Canada, Turkey, and Japan are also accepted.

Also, the candidate must have academic experience as a full-time lecturer of no less than 5 years, as well as clinical diagnostic experience of no less than 10 years in the relevant specialty.

In addition to their CVs, candidates compete among themselves with a four-year strategic platform for the vision with which they will lead their intended service.

The evaluation committee is reviewing the candidates' files to then announce the names of the new leaders, some of whom have been in command so far and are part of the competition./ TCH
