Journalist Klodiana Lala spoke about the ongoing race for the head of the BKH, where seven candidates remain, after six others were disqualified.
Lala said that all the remaining candidates in the race have the potential to lead and that they have careers built with professionalism, but he singled out two of the candidates as the most potential, Elton Kërluku and Joni Keta.
"If you have BKH in your pocket, everyone has the head on their side, they have the Special Prosecutor's Office. It is the support structure of SPAK, it carries out every investigative action, uncovers wiretaps, everything. It is what makes the dough of everything that happens and then the prosecutors sift it to formulate charges. The fight to have their own in BKH is a tough fight. I see the problem as what the KLP will do. The KLP can reject the candidacy and then the process starts all over again.
When the competition opened, there were 13 candidacies, 6 were disqualified, due to formal criteria. One of the names is the former police director, Haki Cako, who was disqualified. The selection of the candidate for the head of the BKH is made by a group of three prosecutors, Dumani, Kraja and Dibra. There was a debate in one of the meetings where international representatives were also present, who monitor. The debate was not about names, but about the way the process would be carried out. There were high tones. There are good professionals, with prominent careers.
I see among them two potential candidates, Elton Kërluku and Joni Keta, I see them as the main favorites. It is a process, but I see them, because Kërluku comes from expertise in financial crime investigation. Keta has worked in Serious Crimes, has dealt with organized crime and corruption. All the names there meet the criteria. The debate is, is there political interference? This is a process that will last because there are seven phases , "Lala declared on the show "Të Paekspozuarit".
