Experts have raised the alarm about the use of skateboards by all ages, without respecting any road code. Criminology professor Ervin Karamuço said that increasingly, these devices are being used by teenagers as entertainment for racing, and this situation with accidents is turning into a national emergency.
"For teenagers it's fun, they have races. These races are also fatal, there are endless accidents. There are pedestrians who are dying every day, on white lines. We have total chaos in road discipline."
"The measures are not having the desired effect, this is a national emergency. The number of accidents has not decreased. This type of vehicle does not accept uneven roads. I have not seen an Albanian riding a bicycle and raising his hand to signal the movement ," Karamuço said.
"Article 47 does not mention scooters at all. These are circulating more than motorcycles. Motorcycles require protective helmets and papers, skateboards are not being checked. All the consequences of accidents come from the lack of protective helmets ," said Alfred Hasanaj, road expert for the "TopStory" show on "TCH".
