General Jasper Jeffers, speaking at the Peace Board meeting, presented the operational plan for the deployment of the international security force in Gaza and announced the first concrete commitments from several countries.

He stated that in the short term, the forces will initially be deployed in the Rafah sector, in parallel with the training of local police. According to him, the medium-term objective is to expand the mission "sector by sector", until full capacity is achieved.

In the long term, Jeffers envisions the establishment of a structure with 12,000 police and 20,000 International Security Force (ISF) soldiers.

The general announced that five countries have confirmed their troop commitment to the ISF: Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo and Albania. He added that Egypt and Jordan have undertaken the training of police forces.

In the short term, we plan to deploy initially in the Rafah sector, in parallel with the training of the police. The medium-term objective is to continue the expansion, sector by sector. All this leads us towards the long-term goal: 12 thousand police and 20 thousand soldiers of the International Security Force (ISF).

"I am extremely pleased to announce today that the first five countries have committed troops to serve in the ISF: Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo and Albania. Two countries have committed to train police: Egypt and Jordan," he said.
