
The Criminal Court of Kosovo has sentenced former socialist MP Alqi Bllako to 4 years in prison for the Tirana incinerator case.
Bllako's sentence will be commuted to 2 years and 8 months with a shortened trial. Alqi Bllako was not present at the hearing due to health reasons, he was represented by lawyer Eduart Sheko.
The GJKKO finds Bllako guilty of passive corruption of high-ranking state officials and local elected officials. Bllako held the position of former Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment.
Bllako is found guilty of passive corruption in 2 cases, a payment of 120 thousand euros from Klodian Zoto's company for the brewery of the former SP MP's father and the employment of businessman Klodian Zoto as an external advisor to Vladimir Bezhani, who has influence over Bllako.
SPAK requested a sentence of 5 years in prison and 5 years of exclusion from all public functions for Alqi Bllako.
