The Italian coast guard ship has arrived in the Port of Shengjin, which will take the 12 immigrants who settled in Gjadër, after the decision of the Court of Rome that they should all return to Italy.
The boat is anchored in the Port of Shengjin and is expected to leave for Italy in a few hours.
The 12 immigrants from Bangladesh and Egypt were caught on October 13 by the Guardia di Finanza and brought to Gjadër two days ago, October 16, after the start of the implementation of the Italy-Albania agreement. After staying two days in the Gjadri camp, the immigrants will return to Italy, after this internal development of the Italian state
The decision was taken the day before, October 18, by the Court of Rome based on a decision of the European Court of Justice on October 4 for asylum seekers from unsafe countries.
Referring also to the European Court of Justice, in the decision of the body of judges of Rome it is stated that Egypt and Bangladesh are considered unsafe countries and therefore the 12 immigrants must stay in Italy and not in the camps, nor can they be released in Albanian territory.
"The two countries from which immigrants come, Bangladesh and Egypt, are not safe even in the light of the decision of the European Court of Justice" , argue the judges of Rome. What compels Italy to keep them in immigrant centers within Italian territory.
Meanwhile, the decision of the court in Rome has ignited politics in Italy. Italian Prime Minister Gorgia Meloni reacted after the decision but did not comment on it.
According to Meloni, three opposition parties DP, M5S and AVS have asked the European Commission if it intends to open an infringement procedure against Italy for the agreement on migratory flows with Albania.
Meloni's irritation seems to be greater with the opposition parties in Italy than with the court decision because according to her these Italian parties are actually asking Europe to sanction their nation and its citizens, with the sole purpose of attacking politically the government. According to Meloni, this is a shame that cannot be ignored.
