In the next hearing against the former Minister of Defense, Fatmir Mediu, his lawyers insisted that the questioning of the 5 American citizens on account of the process be done through video-conference.
The lawyers asked the court to authorize the presence of Major General Andrey Turley, a criminal lawyer, as Mediu's representative during the execution of the warrant.
Also, they asked for the possibility of authorization for the presence of one of them. The lawyers' request for a video conference was also supported by SPAK prosecutors, if it was possible to do so.
During the session where the defendant Mediu himself was not present, there were strong debates between the parties regarding the failure of the court to make a decision on the question of the experts who prepared the financial expert report.
"The prosecutors showed us the expert report, but they didn't tell us what it proves about Mediu", said lawyer Henrik Ligori.
"This is a barren process, which cannot produce guilt. It is a process with procedural vices" , said the other lawyer, Ardian Visha.
The court has withdrawn to the consultation room for making the decision.
