GJKKO rejected Fredi Beleri's request for the dismissal of judge Irena Gjoka as well as the entire judiciary.
In the session held today for the elected mayor of Himara, the Court accepted the request of the Prosecution that Arsen Rama's testimony be held behind closed doors.
Meanwhile, other testimonies will be held with open doors. According to prosecutor Dorina Bejko, Arsen Rama's car was damaged in Vlora and that of his roommate's car and that the case was referred by the Vlora police.
Other residents were also called to the session and will testify if they were contacted by members of the electoral staff of Beler to vote for the latter in the May 14 elections, in exchange for monetary amounts.
Please note that in the last session held on October 24, the Special Court rejected the preliminary requests of Fredi Beleri and Pandeli Kokaveshi for the declaration of invalidity of investigative acts.
GJKKO assessed that this request was not based on the law.
After this decision, Beler's lawyers asked for the dismissal of the jury. While the court decided to submit this request in writing to the court secretariat. The judicial review of the Beleri case is now ongoing, while the latter was not present at the hearing.
Beleri has considered being in prison as political. Regarding his non-swearing as mayor and keeping him in prison, Greek politicians have also reacted, who have threatened our country from time to time regarding membership in the European Union. Beler's request to be released from custody was rejected 5 times.
We recall that Fredi Beleri was arrested two days before the May 14 local elections. The prosecution accuses Beler of "active corruption in the elections", claiming that it has proven beyond any doubt that he had offered a police associate 50 euros for every vote he could find in his favor as mayor of Himara. His accomplice, Pandeli Kokaveshi, is accused of the same criminal act.
