
Greek public opinion about Albania is changing. A report recently published in Athens, conducted by the Market Research Unit at the University of Macedonia, in collaboration with a group of experts on behalf of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, explored the attitudes of Greeks towards bilateral relations and their views on Albanians.
Referring to the data, 57 percent of Greek citizens have a positive opinion of Albania, with an increase of 10 percent compared to five years ago.
Almost 78 percent of them say that the people who came from Albania are making a positive contribution to the economic development of their country.
One of the points of the report is the Beleri issue that has caused reactions and tensions, for which 66 percent of respondents think that there are other more important issues in focus for relations between Albania and Greece.
However, as for the bilateral reports, the majority considers them neutral and stable, writes ABC News.
More than one in two respondents spoke in favor of Albania's integration into the European Union. Within ten years, an increase of 5.5 percent compared to a similar survey in 2019.
The percentage of respondents who would not like Albania to join the European Union is only 17.5 percent.
Today, immigrants from Albania constitute the largest group of foreigners in Greece, with almost 2/3 of registered foreigners arriving in total.
