Islamic researcher Ikballe Huduti Berisha, while speaking about the case of doctor Dervish Hasi, commented on polygamy from a religious point of view.
Huduti underlined that the doctor's actions are not Islamic.
She said that polygamy is prohibited in Albanian law. He also added that the women who live with the doctor are indoctrinated by different sects and nothing in their coexistence is in respect of the Islamic religion.
" People are secular in matters of religion, not everyone knows religion. We must teach the Albanian people that these are sectarian religious indoctrinations.
These ladies are not aware that their rights in Islam are being violated. They are indoctrinated by these sects. In Islam, to marry a second wife requires the consent of the first wife. In Islam, women are not allowed to live in the same room. But when they are poor and unemancipated women, they can be manipulated, but this is not Islamic, this is not humane. Even more so, the criminal law does not guarantee marriage to ladies ," she said.
