The appeal of GJKKO has accepted the appeal of SPAK for the return to the cell of Pëllumb Abesh.
The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime has returned to prison, Pëllumb Abeshin, one of the accused related to the Tirana Incinerator affair.
The appeal of GJKKO gave this decision after accepting SPAK's appeal.
The Director of Policies in the Ministry of Environment was released by GJKKO on January 10 of this year, after the request made by Abeshi for the termination of this security measure.
Meanwhile, the security measure for 7 former officials, Taulant Tusha, Namik Simixhiu, Bledar Karoli, Silena Tola, Alba Thoma, Sadita Kopliku, among them former minister Lefter Koka, has been left unchanged.
SPAK's investigations found links between officials and former officials involved in the procedures for the construction of the Fier and Elbasan incinerators. Meanwhile, in August of this year, the Special Court seized Tirana's incinerator as part of the investigations started in 2020.

1. The amendment of decision no. 134 dated 07/12/2023 and no. 136 date 11/12/2023
of the Special Court of First Instance for corruption and organized crime by:
- Determined the measure that the restrictive personal insurance "arrest in prison" according to article 238
of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to the interrogator zPA, son Mr. H. and Mrs. F., born on {…}, in {…} and resident in {…}.

During the court session, the accused denied the charges against them, claiming that they only performed their duties. The former Minister of Environment Lefter Koka himself during his testimony in the judicial session claimed that he is innocent and that he was a victim of Sali Berisha and the Freedom Party.
