Three Albanians lost their lives in a tragic accident at kilometer 537.5 of the Egnatia highway, at the Iasmos toll booth, when a truck collided with two cars. The victims were unable to get out of the vehicle, which burst into flames, while their bodies were charred.
Greek media report that the victims have been identified as Viktor Bushi, Klarenc Kacaj and Marianka Bushi-Aliraj, aged 59, 61 and 57 respectively, while the seriously injured is Mardalena Kacaj, 49, who managed to get out of the car.
According to ERT, the passengers of the two cars had traveled from Epirus to Evros to attend a wedding. The accident occurred during their return journey. They were screaming for “help,” but no one was able to pull them out of the burning car.
Eyewitnesses report that the collision was so severe that one of the vehicles was immediately engulfed in flames.
