Security expert Fatjon Softa, invited to 'Ora e Fundit', commented on the police operation that hit a prostitution ring operating in our country.
Softa said that in Tirana alone, over 800 girls offer paid services as escorts, while more than 800 thousand euros are generated each year through this activity.
According to the expert, money is converted into cryptocurrencies and the Chinese are leading this activity.
"They are networks that connect with pimps inside and outside the territory. The forms of communication were that these girls were brought to the territory, kept under pressure and forced to prostitute themselves. They turned the money into cryptocurrencies and the joint operation based on information led to the arrest of these people. They had also set up a hotel unit for accommodation, drugging them but also finding clients. The possibility of identification is less possible than in small towns. They use agencies, organized in networks or independent groups.
The Belgrade-Tirana-Podgorica line are their three transport lines, moving and not catching anyone's attention, as the investigations have been going on for over 8 months and thus they lost track.
Tirana has some red spots that lie close to the structures. It is thought that there may be 800-1500 escorts in Tirana alone, where the number increases during the tourism season. The peak is the end of June to September. The areas are, for example, Myslym Shyri Street, Wilson Square, the area around the 'Sami Frashëri' gymnasium. There was once a request for online communication networks to be closed, but it did not happen. The Chinese are in charge, they mainly find the first floors in buildings and have structured groups for currencies. The minimum amount they benefit from is 800 thousand euros which are transferred in cryptocurrencies, " said Softa.
