Accused of property embezzlement, SPAK demands Jorgo Goro's return to
Former Mayor of Himara, Jorgo Goro

The former mayor of Himara, Jorgo Goro, is expected to return to prison about seven months after his release, following the latest calculations by the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) on the remaining time of his sentence.

According to sources, following the decision of the Court of Appeals that sentenced him to 2 years in prison, reduced to 1 year and 4 months due to the summary trial, SPAK has calculated the period of pre-trial detention. This calculation shows that Goro must still serve 6 months and 10 days in prison.

Prosecutor Elvin Gokaj signed the order to execute the decision on Monday, but to date, it has not been implemented by the police.

Meanwhile, the defense's reaction has been immediate. The former mayor's lawyers have filed a request to revoke the execution order, arguing that the sentence has been served through time spent in detention.

The case remains under development, pending a decision on the protection request and possible execution of the order.
