The polar cold will invade Albania starting today. Temperatures are expected to drop to minus a few degrees, not only in Tirana but also in other cities of the country.
"Peshkopi, Bajram Curri, Erseka, Kukësi, Korça and those that will score from -5, -6, -7... it is an unstable situation, we will have humidity and it will feel cold in Tirana even though it is 1 degree, it will feel cold because of the humidity", said meteorologist Lajda Porja.
Wednesday will be the coldest day of the week, while the wind, although not strong, will affect the lowering of temperatures.
"The cold will be felt from this evening...and from Tuesday until the weekend we expect to have low temperatures. The coldest day is Wednesday, it will be -6, -7 degrees in some cities", said the meteorologist for "Euronews Albania".
The weekend will have the same temperatures, especially in the tourist areas, there will be no shortage of snowfall.
"We expect lower temperatures in deep areas, i.e. in the villages, either in the northeast or in the southeast areas. Snowfall on the weekend will be present in the entire mountainous area ," said Porja.
This cold weather will last until January 15th, after which high temperatures will return.
