Prime Minister Rama held an informal meeting with his Greek counterpart, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, as it is thought that one of the "hot" topics discussed between them is the "Beleri" issue.
This meeting became the subject of discussion in the column 'Opinion', between the journalist Panajot Barka and the analyst Ben Andoni, who emphasized that this issue has been politicized. He adds that there is a lack of transparency from the government regarding the "Beleri" case.
Andoni also says that only Fredi Beleri is behind bars and Rama does not let justice do its job in this matter.
The discussion between them:
Barka: I have not heard anything concrete, but there were such communication channels. This is a positive sign and should be appreciated. There is no information even in Greece about this informal meeting. But there is no smoke behind the fire.
Andoni: The only concern is that I see a lack of transparency on the part of our government. There is an approach and maturation of our situation in Greece.
Kathimerini has preceded in two cases in terms of our relations and for the proposal of Mr. Tavo for mayor of Himara, provisionally. Kathimerini is a prestigious body. I regret the lack of transparency, in the sense that if this was done, why should the Beleri issue remain in the dialogue between the two prime ministers.
Barka: Recently, there is something else that the two sides, the media, take and give from each other and creating not very pleasant situations. In this particular case, I don't think that Kathimeri made a mistake, since the journalist may have talked to Tavo. What happened if it was Tavo who withdrew, we don't know. There is no transparency and there are attempts at manipulation. What happened to Tavo is irrelevant. The message was given from Greece through Beler, that it should not be any kind of 'Tavo', no person outside of Himara. Rama understood this issue very well, he wanted to be good with the Westerners. The essence of the matter does not exist.
Andoni: The investment for the Beleri case has captured the entire state pyramid. They also preceded the module on what should be done for Mr. Beleri. I think that from the Albanian side there is a big problem, where Mr. Rama prejudiced Mr. Beleri's candidacy. I was for his candidacy. I thought that Himara had other individuals who would maintain this tradition, but a political force put it. How is it possible that only Mr. Beleri is behind bars?! Why is justice not allowed to do its job? It has political influence. I think so. It had to be dealt with in other cases regarding the elections, as the previous files have not been resolved.
