Invited to "Now with Erla Mëhillin", the former head of the Albanian Intelligence Service, Visho Ajazi Lika, spoke about Iran's attack on the US air base in Qatar.
He said the attack was something symbolic from Iran, as part of an effort to calm the population there, implying that "we are responding too," but that there is no comparison to the US attack.
Further, Ajazi Lika stated that the attack was warned and Qatari authorities were informed before the missiles were launched by Iran.
" It was an expected response. Today it has been discussed all day in the mainstream media and it was understood that Iran would do something, but it would do something symbolic, more than a military strike proportional to what the US did. In the attack that occurred today in Qatar, no one was killed, no one was injured. In addition, they were notified. However, I personally did not expect Iran to make any serious strike, because there is no comparison with the US if it really goes to war. But it is a major regional power and will preserve its 'face'. It is an authoritarian regime, so it will calm its population. I believe that will end it with that, if the US does not strike again , "he said.
Visho Ajazi Lika shared another detail, saying that Iran was also informed by the US before the major attack on nuclear facilities.
" But I also read something else: even before the US struck, there was communication with Iran. The communication was about the danger from nuclear materials. If you notice, after the strikes, the World Atomic Energy Organization declared that there was no sign of radioactivity. So, the bases were hit and it seems that the aim was to destroy only the infrastructure for this nuclear material, but not the material itself ," said Visho Ajazi Lika.
