Educational institutions out of control, police discover 45 private kindergartens without a license

It took the serious incident of violence against a 3-year-old girl for the state to take action against unlicensed kindergartens and nurseries.

After the serious incident, an on-site inspection was launched and according to information, the police discovered 45 gardens without a license.

37 of these kindergartens are in Tirana alone, three in Lezhë, four in Durrës and 1 in Gjirokastër. It turns out that these kindergartens did not apply for a license at the Ministry of Education, or that they were rejected, for not meeting the criteria or documentation.

The action of the joint task force of the Ministry of Education and the state police is expected to continue in the coming days. The state police expected to send charges against the owners, for several criminal offenses, mainly concealing income and non-payment of taxes and duties.

In addition to criminal liability, fines from 500 thousand to 1 million new Lek, as well as immediate termination of educational activity, have been applied to these subjects.
