Analyst and former DP MP Roland Bejko has commented on the tensions within the Democratic Party, comparing the positions of Sali Berisha and Ervin Salianji.
According to Bejko, Salianji promotes the opening and reform of the party, gaining support among women, youth and intellectuals, while Berisha refuses to accept defeat and has difficulty managing the rising figures within the DP. The analyst emphasized that the party statute accepts diversity and Berisha cannot ignore this reality.
"Unlike Berisha, who rules out defeat due to the party's dysfunction, Salianji has a different stance. Another thing Salianji said is that we should accept the truth. But Berisha refuses to look at the people who have won.
Salianj's approach was the opening of the DP, his movements require a reform of the party. Such movements complicate Berisha. Berisha has said that we cannot defeat Edi Rama with votes, which has surprised even the citizens in his speeches. Salianj is supported by a majority of women, young people and intellectuals, Berisha does not have the support of young people because he has taken the place of the young.
"Berisha in the DP has his supporters even in the worst days. Berisha should not give any screaming signals to exclude, because he is not in such conditions. Berisha is condemned to accept the diversity that has a statute and the statute does not exclude, it accepts them," said Bejko on "Ora e Fundit" on ABC News.
