The citizens arrested this Friday for fraud wrote through the "Telegram" application to a businessman, introducing himself as the mayor of Vlora, Ermal Dredha.
"I am Ermal Dredha and I need 35 thousand euros", they wrote to the businessman, with whom, after exchanging several messages, they had arranged a meeting in a shopping center.
Report Tv writes that, the businessman who fell 'prey' is the krushku of Tom Doshi, the owner of 'Brunes' Geront Çela.
Florian Gjergji, suspected to be the organizer of this fraud scheme, had told two of his associates to go to the shopping center, meet the businessman and tell him "we have come to get the package".
But they were not aware of the fact that their "prey" had notified the police. Upon arriving at the mall, the police caught them red-handed and handcuffed them.
The arrested are Afrim Radici, Gezim Çelanji and Qazim Vata, while Gjergji continues to be on the run. For several months, he has been wanted, after being involved in other fraud schemes, where the targets were different businessmen.
Fraud scheme
So far, 3 episodes of Florian Gjergji's fraud scheme are known. First, the 39-year-old sends a message to the "host". With different businessmen he uses different communication tactics. In the cases reported and discovered by the police, he was presented to the businessmen in the name of the former head of the Cadastre, Artan Lame or the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.
