Tirana Police have finalized the operation codenamed "De facto", as part of investigations to track and seize assets suspected of deriving from criminal activity.
As a result of the property investigation, conducted with special methods in cooperation with the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, the Court's decision to seize two apartments and a garage, with a market value of approximately 420 thousand euros, has been executed.
According to the Police, the assets are suspected to have been obtained from the criminal activity in the field of narcotics trafficking of citizen Harben, alias Arben Alla, 54 years old.
The operation was carried out by specialists from the Money Laundering and Criminal Assets Investigation Section, in implementation of the law "On the prevention and suppression of organized crime and trafficking through preventive measures against property".
Police say investigations are ongoing to identify, track and seize other assets that may have been generated from criminal sources, both by the 54-year-old and by persons associated with him.
"Following a property investigation, with special methods, conducted based on Law No. 10192, dated 03.12.2009, "On the prevention and suppression of organized crime and trafficking through preventive measures against property", by specialists of the Money Laundering and Criminal Assets Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, within the framework of the operation coded "De facto", the Court's decision for the seizure of two apartments and a garage was executed.
The assets, with a market value of around 420,000 euros, are suspected of having been obtained from the criminal activity of citizen H(A). A., 54 years old, in the field of drug trafficking.
The investigation continues to trace and seize other assets with criminal sources, of the 54-year-old or citizens associated with him," the announcement says.
The procedural materials have been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action.
