" It is a common virus that has been circulating for a long time. I personally had an infection from this virus last year, I was seriously ill, I was hospitalized. There is nothing alarming, there is only room for caution, not fear. We are in the winter season and we have an increase in all viruses. The metapneumovirus peaks later than the common flu.
It is important to say that it is a virus that circulates but is not identified constantly, not only in us but in the whole world ", said Bino in Euronews Albania.
Asked why China is identifying an increase in metapneumovirus compared to other viruses, she states that China has established a very strict surveillance system regarding identifying the causes of each pneumonia.
Among other things, she adds that the metapneumovirus does not have the ability to cause a pandemic, only pneumonia in certain individuals.
