Diplomat Agim Nesho has commented on the conditions that Greece has imposed on Albania in order not to hinder Albania's EU membership.
In an interview for Euronews Albania, Nesho emphasized that Greece is dealing with the "Beleri" issue for many reasons and according to him it will go to the end.
Among other things, he added that Greece no longer trusts the head of the government, Edi Rama, emphasizing the fact that the latter has dealt with many issues personally.
"There are analysts and political people who say that Rama has already made demands that a compromise solution be found. He played very patriotically to arouse the feelings of patriotism among the militants in Albania, during the elections to show that he is a great Albanian patriot. All this movement of Rama before the elections, the condemnation of Beler together with the interest that Rama has in the development of tourist areas, all these interests created a tension with Greece. Rama has always seen the politics with Greece not as a priority, that is not how the West has called Italy and Greece to be the two local strategic partners of Albania that will make the integration in the Euro-Atlantic institutions.
Rama has created new political axes between Belgrade and Ankara, to show that it is not only original but also has an equality imposed by Albania for Greece, when it needs it. In this sense, I think that the Greeks have accepted Rama after he made considerable concessions and especially in an individual way he decided everything regarding the problem that Albania has with the common sea. Rama played personally. Greece no longer trusts Rama and therefore keeps the affairs of Beleri for many purposes. Greece will go to the end of this matter", said the diplomat.
