The international competition for Rozafa Tower is taking place in Shkodër. Five well-known European studios are presenting project ideas to the jury.
The mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, during the opening speech of the competition, declared that with the growth of tourism there is a need for dignified investments. He further added that this competition to the most prestigious international companies shows that Shkodra is attracting the attention of foreign architects.
"We want to have a dignified construction in our city and with the growing demand for tourism, the need for investments also increases. Shkodra, however, has not been forgiven by the god of nature, it attracts the attention of foreigners. This competition shows the importance of our city, attracting the attention of foreign architects', Mayor Beci said in his speech.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Edi Rama has considered a historic event, the international competition where 5 European studios will present project ideas for the new Rozafa.
In his speech during the activity in Shkodër, Rama said that the event will leave a new mark for generations to come.
" I want to greet in a special way, an experienced friend of Shkodra, an architect, Jesus Herndandez, who is the author of the public work in Shiroka and who is giving the finishing touches to the museum of memory, it will be an added value for the city of Shkodra. Thanks to all the contestants. Event, which is a historical event for Shkodra, in the sense I said from the beginning, because from this event, leaving a new mark for the generations to come begins. I want to greet and thank Agustin in a special way, his family, the younger generation of the family, for the fact that they were very open to organize and finance the competition, so that it will really become a private investment , but thanks to this competition it is a joint effort with the municipality, I hope and believe that we will have other events like this. We will challenge Pjerin Ndreu in Lezhë, I am convinced that watching from Shkodra he will learn ", he emphasized.
