Today, the head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, reported for the first time to the High Prosecutorial Council on the work of the Special Prosecution Office throughout 2025.
Braho emphasized that the measure of imprisonment is used as a last resort, and the use of this measure has decreased by 53.4 percent, compared to a year ago.
"This report is from 2025, where the work was led by Mr. Dumani, whom I take the opportunity to thank. 870 criminal proceedings, guilty verdicts, 87% of the total, showing high effectiveness. Prison security measures have decreased compared to 2024," he said.
Regarding the challenges, Braho said that they are "the continuation of further investigations related to the corruption of senior officials and organized crime."
He also emphasized the importance of "consolidating the further activity of the National Bureau of Investigation, and specifically of the criminal information assessment sector, as a specialized structure for complex investigations."
