The Director of the Tirana Fire Service, Shkëlqim Goxhaj, in an interview with Klan News, called on citizens to be careful with orange-colored 5-kilogram canisters.
He emphasized that they are camping canisters, not for home use. According to Goxhaj, their quality is poorer than others because they are not manufactured to be refilled dozens of times.
" The orange-colored 5-kilogram cylinders should never be used in residential areas. These cylinders are camping cylinders, they are of much poorer quality than other cylinders because they are not manufactured to be filled and refilled dozens of times and used in homes. These are camping cylinders ," said Goxhaj.
According to Goxhaj, citizens fill the cylinders under the pretense of using them for the camp, but then take them home.
" The citizen fills these cylinders with the claim that he will use them for camping and uses them in apartments. So, caution is also needed on the part of the citizens. To completely ban these cylinders in the territory of the republic, there are other institutions that can act. I would say to the citizens who use liquefied gas to show increased caution, especially in these cold winter temperatures. Gas equipment should be placed on balconies so that even if we have a gas leak, we do not have a concentration and consequently we will not have an explosion because the explosion of gas from leaking cylinders has often caused fatal consequences because it does not allow services to operate ," he said.
