Criminalistics expert Ervin Karamuço has revealed details about the cyberattack on SPAK. Today, former head of prisons Agim Ismaili, along with former IMT employee Arnold Rrokaj and former Vlora prison official Zambak Gjoni, have been officially charged in connection with the hacking of the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK).
According to the indictment, the three suspects face criminal charges of unauthorized wiretapping and participation in a structured criminal group. Karamuço told EuronewsAlbania that the criminal group charge was filed so that the case could be investigated by SPAK.
Karamuço: Normally, it has become a method and a habit on the part of SPAK that for issues that are directly related to their work and affect them, such as the specific case, the accusation of a structured criminal group is raised so that they can handle it themselves, investigate it themselves. Otherwise, you would go to the prosecutor's offices of general jurisdiction, to be investigated. And that is why it is somewhat a bit forced to initially raise this accusation, because it should have been expanded further, as Eni and other colleagues mentioned, with other investigations to see how many people there are in this group, and on that subjective side that I mentioned, you need to look at who the motive is.
These documents would be sold, that is, traded, these documents would be given to people close to them to get to know them and take measures to hide other evidence, because they would see that they are under investigation or verification.
Or, would, this was the third case mentioned, they would jump into the media market to smear and say that look, this is how we all are. So, it is this relativization that often happens to us, that then a big public trial is held and look, this is being verified, he has a problem and others and others to publicly smear some of these figures, despite the fact that it has been at the level of normal verifications that SPAK carries out for many of the subjects that never lead to a concrete accusation, or to take people under investigation.
