The family of the late Martin Cani, who was killed a year ago by his peer near Fan Noli School, has welcomed the decision of the Constitutional Court, which declared the closure of the social network TikTok unconstitutional.
In an official statement, the family emphasized that this Constitutional Court decision exposes the government's hypocrisy, as according to them, Martini was not killed by TikTok, but by the failure of institutions.
They added that they will not allow their son's name to be used to cover up and justify the failure of institutions.
"This decision exposes the hypocrisy of a government that, instead of taking responsibility for its failures, chose to use our son's blood as a pretext for censorship and political maneuvering. While the state was busy closing applications, its systematic failure continued to produce victims: first a minor in Maliq and most recently another life cut short in Durrës. We will not remain silent! We demand justice for Martin and for every other child who fell victim to this rotten system.
We will no longer allow the name of our son, a footballer with dreams and a pure soul, to be used as a shield for your failures.
"Our voice joins every family that sheds tears today. We demand actions, not words! We demand security, not censorship! ", the Cani family's response reads.
