The informant reveals that Tirana's fraudulent call centers are financed by Olsi Rama, the Prime Minister's brother, who has been managing them for years through fake accounts.
As announced, tonight on the investigative show "Le Iene", broadcast on Italia 1, a joint investigation with the show "Piranhas" that has been going on for several months was published.
In this next investigation, journalist Luigi Pelazza has returned to Tirana after a joint operation with SPAK, after which 8 people were arrested.
Following the trail of call centers that are scattered throughout every neighborhood of Tirana, the journalist has made an estimate in numbers, which, according to him, involves around 25,000 fraudulent operators and consultants, who enrich themselves every day by stealing from Europeans.
A criminal business estimated at around 500 million euros per month, very similar to that of a powerful cocaine trafficking organization.
Journalist Pelazza has brought back to attention the close cooperation with SPAK, which brought the first and only success in cracking down on this activity.
But this activity was a well-organized collaboration with three call centers in Italian territory, which is why the journalist filed a complaint with the Naples prosecutor's office, to one of the most well-known anti-mafia prosecutors, Nicola Gratteri.
But after the interruption of this activity, the joint mission would continue.
At least three informants, who worked in call centers, have shown themselves willing to help us.
Sofia, 35, is the first to directly contact the Italian journalist, telling him her story of a fraudulent call center in the Delijorgji complex.
Sofia initially thought everything was legal, but soon realized that it was all about fraud.
She even tells the journalist a detail of the moment when Le Iene, together with the Piranhas, were following the SPAK operation in the green tower.
While the 35-year-old was going to work, she and her colleagues received a message from the head of the department informing them that due to technical problems, work would not be held that day.
The date was set for January 16, the day when the intervention was carried out in the call center on the 13th floor of the tower.
Here the journalist raises the suspicion that this story is no longer about 4 corrupt police officers, but about something much larger and more comprehensive.
The girl also reveals many details of the fraud group she worked for for a very short time.
On the 10th of each month, someone would bring the employees' salaries, all in cash, about 2 million euros. The girl also provided precise details about the location of the offices, on the sixth floor of a building in the complex in question.
Journalists from Le Iene and Piranjat went up there, but found everything closed. Le Iene's other informant is Iliri, who has 10 years of experience in this sector.
He is the one who helped journalists map several call centers in several areas of the capital city center.
In his conversation with him, the journalist is shocked as he is told that a very well-known person, the brother of a very important politician, is also involved in this fraudulent affair.
According to the whistleblower named Ilir, it is this person who financed the opening of the call centers and then manages them with the so-called prestanomes.
Then, with the map in hand, the journalist contacts two senior State Police officials, Neritan Nallbati and his assistant Virson Stroka.
Both promise to intervene quickly, but more than three weeks pass, and the journalist receives no response.
Under these conditions, he realizes that something is wrong, so he decides to return to Tirana, where, together with Piranha, he begins to search for the call centers on the map he had handed over to the two police chiefs.
During his movements around Tirana and meetings with collaborators, one of whom was physically attacked by unknown persons, the journalist realizes that he is being held under control, but nevertheless seeks to continue the investigation.
During that day of tracking down the call centers, the journalist understands very well how big this criminal affair is, so much so that even the police officers who were called to intervene in the call center offices inside a villa, withdrew, refusing to cooperate.
So, almost desperate for the complete lack of cooperation, he seeks to meet Prime Minister Edi Rama, standing for several hours in front of his office, but to no avail.
Finally, the Le Iène journalist addresses a public appeal to the prime minister:
"Mr. Rama, in the name of the friendship that connects our two countries, can't you personally intervene so that Albania does not commit these frauds to the detriment of Italy ? " /Piranjat News
