The Tirana Marathon, the largest sporting event in the capital, returns this year with its ninth edition, on October 19, 2025. This edition also marks the year when Tirana holds the title of "Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue".
On the occasion of this activity that will extend to the main streets of the city, the Municipality of Tirana, in cooperation with the State Police, have drafted a plan of measures for the diversion of vehicle traffic.
The restriction on vehicle traffic will start at 08:00 and will last until 16:00.
Meanwhile, on October 18, 2025, the sports activity "Fan Run Marathon" will take place, starting from "Mother Teresa" Square and continuing to the end of "Martyrs of the Nation" Boulevard, from 09:00 to 11:00.
The complete plan of measures drafted by the Municipality of Tirana
1. Restriction of vehicle traffic for the smooth running and organization of the sports activity "Marathon Fan Run", organized by the Municipality of Tirana, starting from "Mother Teresa" Square and continuing to the end of "Martyrs of the Nation" Boulevard, next to the "Reja" installation, on 18.10.2025 from 09:00 to 11:00.
1.1. Vehicle circulation will be as follows:
– On “Lek Dukagjini” streets, “Ibrahim Rugova” street, “Abdyl Frashëri” street and “Papa Gjon Pali II” street.
At the intersection of “Abdyl Frashëri” street with “Ibrahim Rugova” street, forced directions in function of the suspension of traffic on the segment of “Abdyl Frashëri” street with exit to “Dëshmorët e Kombit” boulevard.
– At the intersection of “Bajram Curri” boulevard with “Ibrahim Rugova” street, forced direction to the right.
– At the intersection of “Myslym Shyri” street with “Ibrahim Rugova” street, forced direction to the right.
At the intersection of “Ismail Qemali” street with “Papa Gjon Pali II” street, forced directions in function of the suspension of traffic on the segment of “Ismail Qemali” street with exit to “Dëshmorët e Kombit” boulevard.
1.2. The route of movement of urban line vehicles will be suspended along the entire “Dëshmorët e Kombit” boulevard and “Mother Teresa” square, as well as in all road segments that intersect with the aforementioned route, as follows:
– Line No. 1/A “Selitë Kristal Qendër – Stacioni i Trenit – Allias” and I/B “Kodra e Diellit 2- Kristal – Qendër – Stacioni i Trenit – Allias” diverts to “Willson” square to continue back to “Sami Frashëri” “Myslym Shyri” “Ibrahim Rugova” streets and “Gjergj Fishta” boulevard, while the rest of the route to the intersection of the Ministry of Justice.
– Line No. 2 “Teg – Sauk i Vjetër – Zoo – Former Train Station” diverts to “Willson” Square.
– Line No. 3 “Kashar – Yzberisht – Center” diverts to “Kavajës” Street at the intersection with “Ibrahim Rugova” Street (Bank of Albania) and to “Flora” Cafe – “Mine Peza” Street – “Durrës” Street.
– Line No. 4 “Center – QTU – Megatek – City Park” diverts from “Karl Topia” Square – “Zogu I” - “Fortuzi” Street – “Durrës” Street.
– Line No. 5/B “Institute – Center” diverts from “Karl Topia” Square – “Zogu I” Boulevard – “Fortuzi” Street – “Durrës” Street.
– Line No. 8 “Former Train Station – Center – Sauk i Ri/ Sauk i Vjetër/ Sanatorium – Teg” diverts at the intersection of “Elbasani” street – “Ismail Qemali” street – “Bajram Curri” boulevard – “Elbasani” street.
– Line No. 9 “Student City – “Jordan Misja” street” diverts at the intersection of “Elbasani” street – “Ismail Qemali” street – “Papa Gjon Pali II” street – “Bajram Curri” boulevard – “Elbasani” street and the rest of the route “Zogu I” boulevard – “Fortuzi” street – “Mine Peza” street.
– Line No. 10/A “New Maternity Hospital – Center – Former Aviation Field” diverts to the “Elbasani” road bridge and the rest to “Kavajës” road at the intersection with “Ibrahim Rugova” road (Bank of Albania).
– Line 10/B “Center – Mihal Grameno -Center” diverts to the “Elbasani” road bridge.
– Line No. 12/A “Uzina Dinamo e Re – Sharrë” diverts on the way back to “Kavajës” street at the intersection with “Ibrahim Rugova” street (Bank of Albania) and the rest of the route is “Zogu I” boulevard – “Fortuzi” street – “Mine Peza” street.
– Line 12/B “5 Maji – Sharrë” diverts on the way back to “Kavajës” street at the intersection with “Ibrahim Rugova” street (Bank of Albania) and the rest of the route is “Zogu I” boulevard – “Fortuzi” street “Mine Peza” street – Ring road – “5 Maji” street.
– Line No. 13 “Tirana e Re” in the clockwise direction will be diverted at the intersection with “Myslym Shyri” street towards “Libri Universitar” on the way back to “Willson” square.
-Line No. 15 “Kombinat – Kinostudio” will be diverted to “Kavajës” street at the intersection with “Ibrahim Rugova” street (Bank of Albania) and the rest of the route at the intersection with “Unazë e Vogël” will continue straight (behind TOВ).
– Line No. 16 “Green Line” will be diverted to the “Elbasani” street bridge and the “Sami Frashëri” street bridge.
1.3. The circulation of emergency vehicles and State Police will continue normally on all the above routes.
2. Kufizimin e qarkullimit të automjeteve për mbarëvajtjen dhe organizimin e aktivitetit sportiv “Maratona e Tiranës 2025”, në datën 19.10.2025 nga ora 08:00 deri në orën 16:00, sipas segmenteve rrugore si më poshtë:
– Në sheshin “Nënë Tereza” duke vazhduar në të gjithë bulevardin “Dëshmorët e Kombiť”, rruga “Gjergj Filipi”, rruga “Papa Gjon Pali II”, rruga “Ismail Qemali”, bulevardin “Dëshmorët e Kombit”, bulevardi “Bajram Curri”, kryqëzimi me rrugën e “Elbasanit”, rruga “George W. Bush”, rruga “Abdi Toptani”, bulevardin “Zog I”, bulevardin “Bulevardi i Ri”, rruga “Ded Gjo Luli”, rruga e “Durrësit”, rruga e “Kavajës”, rruga “Myslym Shyri”, bulevardi “Zhan D’Ark” nga kryqëzimi me urën e Gjykatës Tiranë deri te ura Taiwan, bulevardi “Bajram Curri” nga kryqëzimi me urën e Gjykatës së Rrethit Tiranë deri te ura Taiwan, rruga “Ibrahim Rugova” dhe rruga “Lek Dukagjini”.
2.1.Qarkullimi i automjeteve, do të bëhet sipas planit të lëvizjes bashkëlidhur kësaj urdhërese, si më poshtë vijon:
– Në Unazën e Mesme përveç segmentit ura e Gjykatës së Rrethit Tiranë deri tek Rruga e “Elbasanit”, rruga “Luigj Gurakuqi”, ruga e “Dibrës”, rruga e “Barrikadave”, rruga “Mine Peza”, rruga e “Kavajës” nga ura te shkolla teknologjike deri te kryqëzimí “21 Dhjetori. ruga “Vaso Pasha”, rruga “Ismail Qemali”, nga kryqëzimi me rrugën “Vaso Pasha” deri te rruga “Sami Frashëri”, ruga “Abdyl Frashëri” nga kryqëzimi me sheshin “Willson” deri te rruga “Vaso Pasha”.
Në kryqëzimin e rrugës së “Elbasanit” dhe bulevardin “Zhan D’Ark” me drejtime te detyruara përkatësisht djathtas dhe majtas.
Në kryqëzimin e rrugës së “Barrikadave” me rrugën e “Dibrës”, drejtime të detyruara në funksion të pezullimit të qarkullimit në segmentin e “Unazës së Vogël” me dalje në bulevardin “Zogu I”.
Në kryqëzimin e bulevardit “Zogu l” me rugën “Fortuzi”, drejtime të detyruara në funksion të pezullimit të qarkullimit.
– Në rrugën “Mine Peza”, drejtime të detyruara në funksion të pezullimit të qarkullimit në segmentin e rrugës së “Durrësit”.
– Në kryqëzimin “21 Dhjetori”, drejtime të detyruara në funksion të pezullimit të qarkullimit në segmentin e rrugës së “Kavajës”.
– Në rrugën “Myslym Shyri” me rrugën “Sami Frashëri”, drejtim i detyruar në funksion të pezullimit të qarkullimit në segmentin e rrugës “Myslym Shyri” në dalje me unazën.
Në kryqëzimin “Vasil Shanto”, drejtime të detyruara në funksion të pezullimit qarkullimit në segmentin e bulevardit “Bajram Curri”.
– Në kryqëzimin e rrugës “Pjetër Bogdani” me rrugën “Vaso Pasha”, drejtime të detyruara në funksion të pezullimit të qarkullimit në segmentin e rrugës “Pjetër Bogdani” me dalje në rrugën “Ibrahim Rugova”.
– At the intersection of “Abdyl Frashëri” street with “Vaso Pasha” street, forced directions in function of the suspension of traffic on the segment of “Vaso Pasha” street with exit on “Ibrahim Rugova” street.
At the intersection of “Adem Jashari” street, forced directions in function of the suspension of traffic on the segment of the street with exit on “Ibrahim Rugova” street.
2.2. The route of the movement of urban lines will be diverted as follows:
-Line No. 1/A “Selitë – Kristal – Qendër – Stacioni i Trenit – Allias” and 1/B “Kodra e Diellit 2- Kristal – Qendër –
Train Station – Allias” is temporarily suspended.
– Line No. 2 “Teg – Sauk i Vjetër – Zoo – Former Train Station” diverts to “Willson” Square.
– Line No. 3 “Kashar-Yzberisht-Qendër” diverts to the “21 Djetori” intersection and to “Karl Topia” Square.
– Line No. 4 “Qendër – QTU – Megatek – City Park” diverts to “Karl Topia” Square.
Line No. 5 /A “Former Autotraktorëve Kombinati – Qendër” diverts to the “Elbasani” road bridge.
– Line No. 5 /B “Institut – Qendër” diverts to “Karl Topia” Square.
Line No. 6 “Laprakë” diverts to “Zogu I” Boulevard.
– Line No. 8 “Former Train Station – Qendër – Sauk i Ri/ Sauk i Vjetër/ Sanatorium – Teg” diverts to the "Elbasani" roundabout "Student City".
Line No. 9 “Student City – Jordan Misja” is temporarily suspended.
– Line No. 10/A “Marteniteti i Ri – Qendër – Ish Fusha e Aviacionit” diverts to the “Elbasani” road bridge.
– Line No. 12/A “Uzina Dinamo e Re – Sharrë” diverts to the “21 Dhjetori” intersection towards the “Vasil Shanto” bridge and further to the buildings with arrows, the rest is temporarily suspended.
– Line 12/B “5 Maji – Sharrë” diverts from “Zogu I” to the “21 Dhjetori” intersection towards the “Vasil Shanto” bridge and further to the buildings with arrows, the rest is temporarily suspended.
– Line No. 13 “Tirana e Re” diverts to “Willson” square and the rest to “Karl Topia” square.
– Line No. 15 “Kombinat – Kinostudio” to divert to “Kavajës” street at the intersection with “Muhamet Gjollesha” street (“21 Dhjetori” intersection) and the rest at the intersection with “Unazë e Vogël” to continue straight (behind TOV).
– Line No. 16 “Green Line” is temporarily suspended.
2.3. The circulation of vehicles for mixed transport, Technological and Passenger Transport (except for urban urban transport vehicles) is prohibited inside the large ring road on 19.10.2025 from 08.00 to 16.00.
2.4. The circulation of emergency vehicles and State Police will continue normally on all the above routes.
