The Academy of Albanological Studies has filed a day before in the Administrative Court of the First Instance, a request-lawsuit for the opening of the judicial process against the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Ministry of Education and Sports.
In this request-lawsuit, the annulment of the decision of the Council of Ministers "On the closure of the activity of the Academy of Albanological Studies and the reorganization of its main institutes" and the taking of the measure of insurance of the lawsuit by suspending the implementation of the act until the end of the process.
On June 12, 2023, the Academic Senate of the Academy of Albanian Studies decided to follow the legal process against the unprecedented act of closing the activity of one of the most important institutions of Albanian studies, higher education and Albanian culture.
According to AS, this decision was taken in violation of the legal and sub-legal procedures provided by the Council of Ministers itself and, on the other hand, in the total absence of prior consultation with the institution.
The lawsuit bears the signature of the president of the Senate, at the same time the rector of ASA, prof.dr. Luan Perzhita.
