Doctor Besnik Jakaj listed the causes of the increase in heart disease in the population. He emphasized that the main factors are malnutrition, lack of exercise, and environmental pollution.
"In recent years, the number of people with cardiovascular system problems has increased. They are also explainable due to increased life expectancy, the foods we consume, the lack of sports and environmental pollution. These affect heart disease ," the doctor initially said for the "Terminal" show on A2 CNN.
He further added that the fact that people are visited more nowadays should not be ruled out.
" An element is also the increased possibility of being diagnosed. People are more careful, more aware and show up to the doctor on time. We have sick people, we have hospitals, we have doctors, we have medicines, but we do not have a health system programmed for disease prevention and we do not have a complete database. The database is not complete because private hospitals do not report, we have many citizens who go abroad to be treated even for things that can be treated very well in Albania", added Jakaj.
