Mediu and Delijorgji, the two friends of "Gërdec" separated: Show

Yesterday's trial for the tragedy of Gërdec revealed to us a great development, which passed almost unnoticed; the division of the two main names of the Gërdeci case, which is being retried in the GJKKO, Fatmir Mediu and Mihail Delijorgji. After almost 3 years since the reopening of the Gërdec file, where the Special Court has accused former Minister of Defense Fatmir Mediu, businessman Mihal Delijorgji was persistently asked by SPAK to testify. But anyone who expected Delijorgji to speak about the events of March 15, 2008, was disappointed. The businessman who once called Gërdec a sabotage and not an accident, this time he sewed his mouth shut and dressed like James Bond, he went out the door without saying a word.

What was not understood was Fatmir Mediu's disappointment. The former Minister of Defense at the time of the explosion indirectly referred to Delijorgji when he said that "the witnesses who are called do not help the process". Although he hid his name, he could not hide his irritation.

"There is a kind of trial going on that clearly the Prosecution and its own witnesses are not providing any new information. The Prosecution's witnesses continue and maintain the attitude of not being questioned, and this does not help the process at all.

Even more so when they are people who executed, were contractors or made the decisions regarding the demolition in Gërdec. In this whole process, their non-response shows that the Prosecution has brought them as formal witnesses without getting the product it should have for the truth," said Mediu outside the premises of the GJKKO.

This is also the explanation of the irritation. Since Delijorgji did not open his mouth on this issue, Mediu, who has not yet spoken himself, as he is waiting to hear what everyone will say before him. A few weeks ago, he mentioned the sabotage theory in one of his television appearances, stating that Gërdec was done either by the Macedonian Intelligence Service, or by the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.

Excerpt from Delijorgji's interview in 2013 when he was released from prison:

You cast many doubts that the explosion was not a human error but a sabotage, which has not been proven so far...

Delijorgji : It has not been proven, because it has not been investigated. And don't ask this question to me, but to the prosecution and I will also give the arguments. Because it has not been investigated at all. I will stand by this and at some point the truth will come out because the cart was not welded at all that day. And I'm not saying that. Even the people of Qemal Deli say this themselves. And we asked to do the cart experiment to find the cause. And this does not hold. Hundreds of experiments to do and this track does not hold... He came and said from the welding when the guard himself says that it did not happen. They say it came half an hour ago. Half an hour ago, you grabbed it with your hand, and you don't get gunpowder that requires 180-190 degrees to ignite. Therefore it does not hold.

But why does it stand as sabotage for you and Fatmir Mediu? That you both claim this?

Delijorgji : I don't know about Fatmir Mediu, you can ask him yourself. And where am I based? We have to find the reasons. To get himself does not get. And if you look at the expertise that the Americans did, they don't say that it came from this, they say 5-6 variants... Sabotage is because at this moment what has come up in court, they have come out and said that with Albania's entry into NATO... The military said in court that they warned us a week ago to be careful. Plus, from the gunpowder explosion, there is no possibility of an explosion reaching the gunpowder at a distance of 500 meters. There may have been saboteurs from within.

It is precisely this version publicly stated to the journalist Anila Basha in 2013 by Mihal Delijorgji, the signal that Fatmir Mediu was expecting yesterday from Delijorgji at GJKKO. But for reasons that no one knows, Delijorgji has not spoken and has not given any clarification, even for this variant. ZÜRI tried to contact Mr. Delijorgji in all ways, but without success.

We are now a little more clear about why Mediu was irritated, and why Delijorgji remained silent. If the version of sabotage were to be thrown at GJKKO, Delijorgji risks punishment for perjury, while Mediu has to invent an imaginary enemy.

But in this battle he is alone. Even Delijorgji has abandoned him. This brought Mediu's disappointment that yesterday more than ever he understood that he must face alone the tragedy he caused at the time when this business was developed with the blessing and state organization in Gërdec. The best he can do is, in addition to asking for forgiveness, to admit guilt, in order to give the victims a peaceful rest./ VOICE
