The morning started with low temperatures across the country, especially in remote mountainous areas.
Northeastern cities such as Peshkopia, Bulqiza, Bajram Curri and Puka have recorded minimum values ranging from -3 to -5 degrees Celsius.
Korça also remains in negative values at -2 degrees. Despite the fact that noon brings a slight increase to 14 degrees, temperatures remain typical for the month of January.
Start of the week: Cloudiness and humidity return, temperatures remain low
Weather forecaster Lajda Porja from Meteoalb, in a news studio link on "Ora News", stated that the presence of the sun will give way to clouds starting this afternoon.
The first part of the week, until Wednesday, will be under the influence of cold and humid conditions.
An increase in humidity is expected in the air, which will make the cold feel even more intense, although precipitation will be scarce and focused mainly on the southern and southeastern edges. The thermometer will experience a further decrease of about 2 degrees.
The Turn: Warmer temperatures bring spring into the weekend with highs of 18 degrees
Starting from Thursday and throughout the weekend, our country will be affected by a change in air masses. A warm mass is approaching the Albanian territory, bringing a significant reduction in temperatures.
Even mountainous areas will see positive temperatures, while highs in the country are expected to reach 17-18 degrees. This second part of the week will be warm but humid.
Alert: Windstorms and high waves expected this weekend
Meteorology Porja appeals for caution for the second half of the week, not because of precipitation, but because of the wind. The replacement of cold air mass with warm air mass will create strong wind storms.
On Friday and Saturday, offshore wind speeds are expected to exceed 80 km/h, bringing high waves and potential problems for navigation.
