Alis Narazani has been declared the winner of the race for the leadership of the Democratic Party, Elbasan Branch, after securing the majority of votes at the end of the counting process. He will take over the leadership of the branch, being confirmed as the choice of the membership in this electoral process.
The elections were held during the day, and after the closing of the voting, the counting of votes by the relevant commission began immediately. In total, 1208 members with voting rights participated in the process.
The race for the leadership of the branch was open and with several candidates, where Durim Çekrezi, Elior Vila, Lumturi Hasa, Sokol Shkëlzeni and Alis Narazani were facing each other. The latter is considered a representative of a younger political generation within the Democratic Party.
The process in Elbasan has not been without controversy, as several names have been excluded from the list of candidates. These include Doris Madhi, Rudina Alla, Zheni Gjergjit and Alesia Balliu. In some of these cases, the full reasons for the exclusion have not been made public, which has raised questions about the transparency of the process.
With this result, Narazani takes over the leadership of the DP branch in Elbasan at a time when internal processes in the party are taking place in parallel in several cities in the country and are accompanied by competition, but also internal tensions.
