
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has banned the import of poultry affected by the pseudoplague disease from countries such as Bulgaria and Poland, as well as domestic and wild pigs affected by African swine fever in countries such as Estonia, Latvia, Croatia, Poland, Estonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Moldova.
The decision published in the official gazette states that the import of live domestic poultry, birds, fresh meat, and biological material of poultry not accompanied by a PCR test performed in the last 14 days is prohibited.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announces that imports from the countries of Bulgaria, Poland and Spain are permitted, from areas and establishments that have not had a notification of Newcastle disease for the last 12 months.
Also, by decision of Minister Anila Denaj, the import of live domestic and wild pigs, fresh meat and its products, biological material and embryos of live pigs, excluding meat in a hermetically sealed container, gelatin, dry pet food and protein meals, has been prohibited.
Meanwhile, the Ministry has banned imports from Italy, Serbia, Greece, Kosovo and Croatia of live small and ungulate livestock, of the ruminant and camelid species, affected by bluetongue disease./ A2CNN
