The criminal referral of Police Station No. 1, which was registered in August 2025, regarding the kidnapping of the former director of AKSHI, Daniel Shima, has been closed with a decision not to initiate proceedings.
The decision not to open a criminal case was taken a short time ago by the Tirana prosecutor's office, which, after conducting a series of investigative actions, such as reviewing video footage, questioning Daniel Shima three times, questioning his lawyer fiancée three times, and questioning his mother twice. L. Shima, has concluded that Shima had left the apartment of his own free will without being influenced by anyone.
It is learned that SPAK has not shown any interest in this issue nor has it received any statement from Daniel Shimë.
Even in the file of the non-initiation of investigations, there is a response from the head, Altin Dumani, who informed the investigation group at the Tirana prosecutor's office that there was no investigation into Daniel Shima at SPAK.
It is learned that regarding this matter, Daniel Shima was questioned once at the premises of Police Station No. 1 in Tirana and twice at the premises of the capital's prosecutor's office.
Shima has maintained the same stance in his statements, claiming that his "disappearance" and loss of contact with his fiancée and mother was voluntary and was not influenced by other circumstances forcibly carried out by third parties.
"...Don't call me again to ask me...", he is said to have told Daniel Shima, the prosecution officer who was conducting investigative actions regarding his case for leaving the apartment on August 20, 2025.
Meanwhile, Daniel Shima explained to the prosecutor's office the content of the SMS with the text: "...they're arresting me..." that he sent to his fiancée, saying that everything happened in an emotional state due to a recent conflict he had with his cohabitant.
His lawyer fiancée was questioned 3 times about this fact, and she gave the same explanation that Daniel Shima gave.
L.Shima, Daniel's mother, also gave a statement, telling investigators at the Tirana prosecutor's office that Daniel had staged everything himself, due to a conflict in the couple.
According to her testimony, the couple has now reconciled and are living together.
Meanwhile, from the examination of some video footage seized from several businesses, it was seen that Daniel Shima was alone in his car. A camera installed at the Faculty of Economics roundabout on Elbasani Street clearly filmed that Shima was alone and unaccompanied by anyone.
This moment was captured a few minutes after Shima had sent his cohabitant the message: "...they are arresting me...", which, according to the Tirana prosecutor's office, he had cut off the connection himself and was not taken by force and against his will by other people./ Syri.net
