Heavy rains invaded Albania today, causing problems with electricity and flooding in various cities of the country.
Some roads in Tirana and Durrës were flooded, while the traffic is unbearable. The situation is also serious in Vlora, while in Mirdita the water has entered the houses and flooded the lands.
In many areas such as Kukës, Tropoja, Shkodër, there have been problems with electricity. Due to the bad weather and to maintain the safety of the working conditions, DSO electricians are careful and cannot work until the normalization of rainfall and the cessation of atmospheric discharges.
On the road axis Skuraj - Burrel, where there is a massive fall of stones and blocking the road, in the village of Shkopet as well as in the Milot administrative unit, in Kurbin. Due to the bad weather, two more accidents were recorded, in Elbasan and in Fier.
Tirana
The heavy rains in Tirana continued for several minutes, causing flooding of the roads in some areas and increased traffic. The Lana River is swollen but not reported to be out of bed. Mayor Erion Veliaj calls on citizens to avoid unnecessary movements.
Durres
Heavy rains have caused flooding and heavy traffic this morning in Durrës. A part of the road axes of the coastal city, and especially the intersections, have been under the power of water, making it difficult for pedestrians, mainly school students and citizens rushing to work. In the city of Durrës, there is water on some roads, making it difficult for vehicles to move, mainly in the area around the stadium, the beach, Plepa. In the Health Center of the Sukth Administrative Unit, there is water inside the premises, making it impossible to provide services to citizens.
Vlore
Heavy rains have also invaded the city of Vlora. Within 30 minutes many streets and neighborhoods of the city were flooded. Respectively, the Pavarësia neighborhood, the Skela area, the 28 November neighborhood, Rilindja and many streets are under water. The rains are continuing to fall creating problems in the city. At the moment, movement is suspended in the Rilindja and 28 November neighborhoods.
Lezha
The heavy rains have also covered the territory of Lezhë district. During the hours of the night until the morning, we had rain of medium intensity, sometimes up to high, but without creating a problem. According to the data of the Military Meteorological Service, Gjadër and the Regional Directorate of Irrigation and Drainage have received an average of 36 mm of rain. From the civil emergency structures of the Kurbin municipality, a problem is reported in the fall of inerts on the road in the Milot administrative unit, in the village of Shkopet, as well as in the village of Delbnisht, near the border with the village of Shullaz. Kurbin police forces are also present in Shkopet and are disciplining the traffic. The work to clean the inerts from the road continues.
RRESHEN
The heavy rains have caused problems in Tarazh i Rrëshen this morning, as a result of the exit from the bed of the Zmë river. It is reported that there were inerts falling on the road, which were blocked. Water has entered a residence so far and the basement of a business. After the decrease in the intensity of the rains, the level of the Zmë river has decreased, withdrawing the presence of water in the yards of homes and businesses. Meanwhile, the Civil Defense structures of the municipality are on the ground to document the damage on roads and businesses.
As a result of the exit from the bed of the river Zmë in Rrëshen, a house in Tarazh was flooded. As can be seen from the pictures, the water has entered the apartment, causing significant damage. The water has also flooded the agricultural lands, while the roads have also been damaged by the fall of inerts.
