A mass was held at the Church of Saint Collet for the former head of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania, Anastasios Janullatos.
The Orthodox believers of Elbasan lit candles and prayed for the soul of the late archbishop. The Metropolitan of Elbasan, Shpat and Librazhd, Father Andoni, stated that Archbishop Anastas will remain in the hearts of all Orthodox believers for everything he did for the Albanian Orthodox Church.
The Church of St. Kolli in the Shenkoll neighborhood is one of the most important religious and cultural sites in this area. It was built in 1996 and is a symbol of the revival of Orthodox faith and tradition after the overthrow of communism, as previously churches and religious sites were closed and prohibited.
The funds for the construction of this church were made possible by the Head of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania, Anastas Janullatos, who has throughout played an important role in the restoration of religious life and the restoration of churches in Albania after 1990.
The Church of Saint Kolli in Elbasan was built for the glory of God and as a place of worship for Orthodox believers in the city of Elbasan and the surrounding area.
