Father Nikolla Kodheli spoke about the work of Archbishop Anastasios Janullatos, emphasizing his importance for Albanian Orthodox believers.
He called Archbishop Anastasios the "father" who created everything from scratch, providing a new model for the religious and spiritual life of Albanians.
"Anastas Janullatos was the father who created everything from scratch and gave us the right model to live by, being the Archbishop of all Albanians," Father Nikolla Kodheli told "Euronews Albania".
Father Kodheli also indicated that the body of Archbishop Anastasios will be buried in the premises of the Orthodox Cathedral in Tirana.
"Archbishop Anastasios will be laid to rest in a special crypt beneath the cathedral altar, and this will be open to believers who wish to visit," he underlined.
The funeral of Archbishop Anastasios will take place on January 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM, following a special Divine Liturgy, which will be performed by the highest clergy of the Orthodox Church.
The funeral ceremony is expected to be attended by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, as well as many believers and prominent figures from Albania, Greece and beyond.
