
As it was announced today, the Conference of Presidents approved today the creation of the Disinformation Commission. Regarding this issue, the speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, addressed a letter to the US Department of State, where she asks for help in setting up this Commission.
In an attempt to camouflage the idea of online media censorship, the majority has requested that the USA participate in the establishment of this commission, in order to extinguish critical voices about this commission.
In the letter to the Special Envoy and Coordinator for the State Department's Center for Global Engagement, it is said that his experience will help in efforts against foreign malign influences.
Letter from the President of the Assembly:
Dear Mr. Rabin./ I am writing to you regarding the recent motion initiated by a group of deputies for the Creation of a Special Commission to combat foreign influence, including disinformation. The Conference of Presidents approved the commission today. Parliament created the commission and sent it to the plenary session for approval. Since Albania lacks the proper framework to address such impacts, I would like to not only extend an invitation to you to visit the Assembly of the Republic of Albania, but the committee would greatly benefit from your experience and knowledge of valid against these forces. Furthermore, I would like to ask you to address the Assembly about the importance of joint efforts to combat foreign malign influences.
