The prosecutor of Lezha, Bardhyl Shehu, was dismissed from his position after he could not justify his assets.
He did not appear this Thursday at the notification session by KPK. Shehu was also absent from the hearing on August 7, for his vetting. The Independent Qualification Commission dismissed the prosecutor as he did not have facts to justify the assets.
The process was carried out by the KPK team, led by Pamela Qirko, with rapporteur Xhensila Pino and member Alma Faskaj.
During the hearing, the Commission informed that during the investigation it had found the inability of the prosecutor Shehu and his wife to justify the large assets they possess. Also, KPK raised suspicions about legally unproven bank transactions and incorrect statements to justify their source.
Bardhyl Shehu's career began in 1985 where he worked as a Judicial Police officer and held this position for almost two decades. Then, in 2005, he was appointed as a prosecutor in the Prosecutor's Office of Kurbin, from which he moved to the Prosecutor's Office of the General Jurisdiction of Lezhë, after the approval of the new judicial map.
