The Head of the Special Prosecution Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime, Altin Dumani, has urgently gone to Shkodra to closely follow a broad investigative operation that is taking place in the context of electoral crimes.
Sources from the Shkodra Police indicate that the persons being prosecuted are members of the Social Democratic Party's Electoral Headquarters led by Tom Doshi, Euronews writes.
The operation, which is being carried out in cooperation between the National Bureau of Investigation, the State Police and the Special Prosecution, includes controls and investigative actions in several areas of the Shkodër region, such as Malësi e Madhe, Barbullush, Bushat and Mjed. According to official sources, criminal proceedings are registered by SPAK in relation to criminal offenses related to the manipulation or violation of the integrity of the electoral process.
In the field, BKH agents are being assisted by operational forces and patrols of the Shkodra Local Police Directorate, while the supervision and coordination of investigations at this stage is being carried out by SPAK prosecutor Dritan Prençi, who has been assigned to pursue issues related to electoral crimes in this region.
The operation is still ongoing and it is expected that official information on the results of the investigation will be available in the coming hours.
