SPAK has released the latest data regarding electoral crimes.
In a statement, the Special Prosecution Office says that 123 indictments have been administered, of which 35 have entered the investigation phase, i.e. have been registered as criminal proceedings.
22 are decisions not to initiate a criminal investigation, while 16 indictments have been sent for jurisdiction to the prosecutors' offices of the judicial districts.
SPAK announces that 10 materials have been sent for verification to the Local Police Directorate for additional information or for carrying out initial actions, while 1 material has been merged with another existing case.
Regarding the 35 proceedings, 20 were initiated based on referrals from the State Police, 8 were initiated mainly by SPAK. Only 3 came as a result of reports from various citizens. Two others were initiated from reports by political entities and the last two were referred by the Prosecutor's Offices of the Judicial Districts.
"29 proceedings have been registered for the criminal offense of Article 328 (active corruption in elections).
4 proceedings were registered for both articles, respectively, under Article 328 and Article 328/b (active/passive corruption in elections).
1 proceeding was registered under Article 328/a (use of public office for political purposes).
"1 proceeding has been registered for article 328/a (use of public office for political purposes and article 248 (abuse of office)," SPAK said in a statement.
