Residents of the village of Barbullojë, in Lezha, have gone on strike due to repeated problems with electricity supply, demanding immediate intervention in the network which, according to them, is depreciated and unsafe.
According to residents, the situation has worsened since Sunday evening, when several families were left in the dark and suffered damage to household appliances due to voltage fluctuations.
They say that the ongoing defects have not only caused material losses, but have also endangered their lives in the apartments.
"The depreciation of the electrical network has burned out our household appliances and put our lives at risk inside our homes ," residents say, emphasizing that the problem is long-standing and recurring.
Outraged, they declare that, despite constant complaints, no investment has been made to improve the network.
"This situation is recurring and is becoming unbearable for us. The network is in a serious state and no one has intervened," the protesters told "Syri TV".
On the other hand, the authorities have conducted inspections in the area and, according to residents, have promised that the situation will be resolved. There is still no concrete deadline for the announced interventions.
