After several days of sunshine and high temperatures, Albania and the region are preparing for the return of rainfall and temporary cloudiness during the week, according to meteorologist Hakil Osmani.
Osmani said that heavy rain is expected initially in the northern and northwestern areas, while the weekend will bring cloudy weather and local rainfall to most of the country.
According to the meteorologist, the beginning of the week will be with stable weather and clear skies, at least until Wednesday. But in the second part of the week, increased humidity and the development of cloudiness will bring the presence of precipitation, more noticeable in the north and northwest. The southeastern areas will be most affected during the weekend.
" In the second part of the week, cloudiness is expected to develop and a significant increase in humidity in the air, which will bring the presence of precipitation, initially in the northern and northwestern areas ," Osmani said in a live link to Euronews Albania.
Regarding temperatures, the meteorologist said that the beginning of the week will bring a gradual increase in temperatures.
" In mountainous areas, temperatures by Wednesday will reach 14–15°C, with maximums of up to 19°C. In the western lowlands, morning temperatures will reach up to 21°C, while along the coastline they are expected to fluctuate from 24°C to 32°C. In the afternoon hours, maximums could reach up to 36°C in cities such as Tirana, Berat and Elbasan. Thursday will bring a significant drop in temperatures, mainly at noon, while from Friday an increase is expected again, with maximums of up to 32–33°C ," said Osmani.
In the region, temperatures will be rising in Kosovo and North Macedonia: on Wednesday, up to 33°C is expected in Kosovo and up to 35°C in North Macedonia, with stable weather.
" Thursday will be accompanied by cloudiness and precipitation in the form of showers, most noticeable in Kosovo, while in North Macedonia precipitation will be less. Friday and the weekend will be characterized by frequent cloudiness, especially during the afternoon, " concluded Osmani.
