The Financial Supervision Authority (AMF) published this Friday the data of the insurance market for the period of the first 6 months of 2024.
According to the report, the income from gross written insurance premiums for the period January - June 2024 amounted to ALL 11,880 million, or 7.55% more than the same period a year ago. Meanwhile, the number of concluded insurance contracts reached 699,453 with an increase of 9.62% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The market remains oriented towards Non-Life insurance, which brought 91.31% of the total volume of premiums, while Life insurance has 8.64% and reinsurance with 0.048%.
From the point of view of market division by type of insurance, compulsory and voluntary, the gross written premiums of voluntary insurance occupy 44.08% and the gross written premiums of compulsory insurance occupy 55.92% of the total market.
