Immediately after Prime Minister Edi Rama's visit to Enver Hoxha's former villa, which was attacked yesterday by DP protesters, two major dismissals in the State Police have been announced.
By order of the Prime Minister, the Director General of the State Police, Ilir Proda, was removed from his post and Sokol Bizhga was appointed head of the State Police.
It is also learned that the director of the Tirana Police, Elton Alushi, has been dismissed from his post, but it is not yet known who will take his place.
The dismissal of the heads of the State Police came after the violent protest of the Democratic Party yesterday, where the lives of artists who were inside Enver Hoxha's villa were put in danger during the Molotov cocktail attack organized by Berisha's militants.
In Villa 31, where Molotov cocktails were thrown, endangering the safety of people inside the building that serves as the headquarters of the Art Explora foundation.
The explosions also caused damage to the building.
