The "Albania Becomes" movement has launched the announced protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office in Tirana. Citizens and their supporters have gathered on the boulevard in front of the Prime Minister's office, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Organizers are calling this the movement's fifth national protest. For more than two months, activists from "Albania Becomes" have been staging continuous protests in front of the Prime Minister's Office, in defiance of the government.
The rally is taking place under the monitoring of law enforcement, and so far no incidents have been reported.
The party's leader, Adriatik Lapaj, called for civic unity and reaction against what he described as systematic theft of public property.
"All together to seek a better Albania. I believe in the power of the individual, because individuals have changed the nation ," Lapaj said to the protesters.
